Maple Bay

" When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect. "

Aldo Leopold

Maple Bay is a picturesque seaside community located 10 minutes east of Duncan.

This sheltered bay is a haven for boaters year round as evident in the three commercial marinas and a public dock. Maple Bay is busy with float plane service to Vancouver and the Gulf Islands.

There are plenty of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails in the area including Maple Mountain and the Cowichan Municipal Forest, a 5000 hectare park that is one of the largest municipal forests in North America. Maple Bay is also a popular destination for fishing and kayaking.

Services are limited in Maple Bay. Nearby Duncan has all the services one would require. In Maple Bay there is an elementary school and a couple of churches. There is a pub with a cold beer and wine store and one of the marina is full service with convenience store, coffee shop, gift shop, marine store, and marine fuel.
